CresFest: Folk & Roots Music Festival
Digital Marketing Assistant | October 2024 – April 2025
CresFest was one of my first opportunities to work directly in digital marketing for an arts festival, and it was a role that really confirmed how much I enjoy the combination of creativity, marketing and live events.
As a Digital Marketing Assistant, I worked across Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, creating and scheduling content to promote the festival and its artists. I designed photo and video content in Canva, developed content calendars and helped shape marketing strategies focused on growing the audience, increasing engagement and ultimately driving ticket sales.
I also had the opportunity to capture photography and videography at festival events, which gave me a much better understanding of how content can be created within an event environment rather than simply promoting an event from behind a screen.
One of the things I enjoyed most was figuring out what would actually make someone stop scrolling and want to come to a show. I learned to think more intentionally about audiences, timing, trends and the different ways an arts organisation can tell its story online.
This experience helped me build the digital marketing skills I now use across my other arts and events work, while also giving me a strong appreciation for how important good marketing is to the success of a live event.
